Although there are numerous breed and sled dog clubs here in New England, a few of us felt there was an unfilled need in the North Country.  On July 23, 2006, we got together over coffee and established, what will be known as the North Country Mushers.

Our purpose is to encourage the growth and understanding of the sport of dog mushing in Northern New England by promoting and sanctioning races, organizing social and fund-raising events and ensuring the safe and ethical treatment of all participants.
